What is in-network dental insurance?
In-network insurance specifies that a dentist, or provider, has contracted with an insurance company to offer services at their pre-negotiated rates. In-network dental insurance offers several advantages, these vary by plan and company but generally include coverage for preventative work and varying discounted rates for dental services. Some of the disadvantages can include clauses and exceptions included in the fine print like waiting periods, downgrades and same day treatment clauses. In addition, dental insurance does not function like regular health insurance and covers up an annual maximum and then does not cover additional services after that point. This amount is typically set at a $1,000 annual maximum.
Do you accept in-network insurance?
We do. We currently accept in-network insurance with Aetna, Ameritas, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna and Humana, Guardian and MetLife.
How will I know how much my insurance covers?
For any non-preventative treatment, we provide estimates of your costs based on information provided by your insurance company. We also recommend reading the details on your specific plan prior to your visit to be aware of any exceptions or stipulations that may be associated with your plan.
Which insurance plan do you recommend?
We are often asked to recommend insurance companies or plans, but given all the criteria used to determine pricing and coverage by insurance companies makes it difficult to recommend a single company or plan. For that reason, we recommend patients use Our Dental Membership Plan for their dental care as it takes away the confusion associated with insurance plans with easy-to-understand pricing and no interference when it comes to your dental care.
