What to Expect

  • Bite Analysis & Smile Design

We'll discuss your goals and detailed specifics around the aesthetics of your new smile. Then, we'll take molds and pictures of your teeth to use as we analyze your bite and design a wax model of your veneers.
  • Treatment Plan Review

Using the findings from your bite analysis, we'll review detailed aesthetics of your new smile using the wax model design. We'll talk through treatment timeline, cost and answer any questions you have before finalizing your treatment plan.
  • Teeth Adjustments

We'll adjust, or slenderdize, your teeth during this visit so that the veneers will fit correctly. We'll also make a set of temporary veneers for you to wear and become comfortable with your new smile before we make the permanent veneers.
  • Final Mold

Once you feel comfortable with the temporary veneers, we'll take a final mold of your teeth. This mold will be used for the final veneer.
  • Fitting

At this visit we'll bond and fit your veneers and make any needed adjustments for your comfort. We'll also take a mold to construct a bite guard to help protect your veneers while you sleep.
  • Bite Guard

We'll use this short visit to deliver your biteguard and check-in on any adjustments or questions on your veneers.

FAQs

How many veneers do I need?
A consultation is needed to determine how many veneers are needed or if veneers are the best option to achieve the smile aesthetic you'd like. In most cases, however, an even number of veneers (either 2, 4, 6 or 8) is the best option for the optimal smile.
How long do veneers last?
For patients who have regular professional cleanings and optimal oral hygiene, veneers will typically last 10 or more years without chipping or breaking.
How do I care for my veneers?
Brushing two times a day for 2 minutes, flossing daily, and wearing a bite guard at night is the best way to care for your veneers. We also advise against biting into hard foods, like almonds or shells, using your front veneers.
What is the most common reason to have veneers replaced?
The material we use to construct veneers is very strong and does not normally break. However, sometimes gum recession occurs around the veneer and the root of the tooth may become exposed. Gum recession for most people is a slow process and can be identified during your regular checkups. The other common cause is to develop a cavity around the edge of the veneer. This is easily avoided with routine brushing and flossing.
