Yes. To properly treat your issue diagnostic images and an examination by the dentist are necessary to proceed with care.
Can I be seen for an emergency if I am not a regular patient?
Yes. Regardless of whether or not we've seen you before, our priority is getting you to being pain-free as soon as possible.
How long does the exam take?
An emergency exam typically takes 20 to 30 minutes.
How do I know if I am having a dental emergency?
If you are experiencing significant tooth, jaw or gum pain, you are likely having a dental emergency. Some examples of emergencies include:
• An accident or damage to your tooth that has caused it to break or fracture • An unexplained bump or pimple on your gums • Sudden severe tooth pain or swelling • A toothache that is severe enough to cause radiating facial pain • Sports injury or trauma to your mouth caused by an accident • Loss of a filling, dental crown, veneer, or other type of restoration If you are having significant swelling in your face or neck area you should seek immediate medical attention.
